About

The Jagannath Puri Yatra is a grand annual chariot festival held at the Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, attracting devotees from around the world. Celebrated as per the Brahma Purana, it honors Lord Jagannath, Goddess Subhadra, and Lord Balabhadra. The deities are carried in elaborately decorated chariots from the main temple to the Gundicha Temple, covering 18 km. Key rituals include the Snan Yatra, where 108 pots of aromatic water are used to bathe the deities, symbolizing divine grace and purity.
